PUT IT ON WAX

  • Toxteth Hotel 345 Glebe Point Rd Glebe, NSW, 2037 Australia (map)

Due to the overwhelming success of their last group exhibition, 'One For the Road' the good people of Lord St Collective have organised another charity exhibition called 'Put It On Wax' where every artist will be working with vinyl records!

A stellar lineup of artists from all across the country will be donating their time to the cause, so come along and CHECK OUT THE ART! EMPTY YOUR POCKETS! DISCUSS THE ISSUE! and have some groovy times...

Funds raised from the show will go towards helping the Parnngurr Community of Western Australia stop the proposed Cameco project to mine uranium at Kintyre.

CAMECO corporations and MITSUBISHI cannot be trusted to protect our ecosystems, Aboriginal land, and the communities health from radioactive pollution!
Between 1981 and 1993 CAMECO was responsible for over 150 spills of radioactive material at uranium mines.

For more information Please head to this website and check out the video below!

This short video features Martu elders from the Parnngurr (Bung-or) community in the Karlamilyi National Park, East Pilbara WA. The community has a long history of fighting against uranium mines - this is the story of the recent fight against Canadian giant Cameco and their JV partner Mitsubishi. This footage was taken in June 2014 to make a video to lodged with the WA Government as an appeal against the EPA approval of the Kintyre uranium proposal. The mine is a long way from starting, this fight is just beginning. You can find out more at wanfa.org.au Please share with your friends and networks.
